American sportswear giants Nike have decided to mark Harry Kane’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot with golden boots to wear for England’s UEFA League of Nations clash with Spain on Saturday night. 

The Tottenham Hotspur forward edged the likes of Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) and Antoine Griezmann (France) to win the coveted award in Russia with six strikes to his name.

And his sponsors have presented him with a one-off pair of the Hypervenom Phantom III for the tie against La Roja.

Kane’s not like most modern-day footballers in the sense that he likes to keep a low profile but this time his boots will literally be doing the talking for they certainly come under the gaudy category:

The insole of the boots have the words ‘Lane, Lion, Leader’ emblazoned on them, paying tribute to the fact that Tottenham’s traditional home used to be called White Hart Lane while England are known as the Three Lions.

And the last reference being to the fact that Kane is now the captain of Gareth Southgate’s side for the foreseeable future.

While the regular edition of the Nike Hypervenoms retail for a mouth-watering £230, don’t hold your breath if you like the shiny versions Kane will be wearing for the Spain clash as they are not likely to be put on sale to the public.

England take on Spain (September 8) and Switzerland (September 11) in the ongoing international break but it’s unsure if the star forward will wear these boots against the Swiss as well.

It’s been a good few months for the 25-year-old as not only did he scoop the Golden Boot in the summer, he also broke his duck of not scoring in August when he found the back of the net against Manchester United.

Spurs made a bright start to the 2018/19 Premier League season, winning three games in a row, with their 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford a highlight.

Their final game before the international break, however, left a lot to be desired as the Lilywhites were humbled by an in-form Watford side.
